Help! Painful BFing at 5 weeks
Today BFing has gotten increasingly more painfu, especially on the right side and I noticed the very tip of my nipple on the right side it white.
It hurts the most when DD first latches and sucks...Its a sharp pinching pain.
I also feel that I have not had as strong let downs today, but DD also has nursed a little more frequently during the day b/c last night was the first night she slept 5 1/2 hours through the night.
Im not even sure which Dr I would call about this (OB?) and today is Sunday so nobody is in until tomorrow.

Ouch! Sounds like a milk blister/ bleb, and yes, they hurt. Google those terms or go to kellymom.com for more info. Try warm compresses before nursing, pump if you can, and try to nurse on that side to help clear it out. It should clear within a few days.

I had this and followed the same advice. Always start with that side to help clear it. Mine cleared in less than 2 weeks (it was stubborn!)
