Hernia Surgery

My co-worker needs to have hernia surgery. Anyone have a recommendation for a Dr? I told him I'd ask around. We have Oxford and are in in Nassau. Thanks!

Re: Hernia Surgery

I just had it done. I used Dr. Halpern in Mineola. I looked him up on this website, and a few others and everyone recommends him. My mother in law was skeptical that I picked a doctor by looking on the internet. then she went to her doctor and asked him who he would pick to do hernia surgery and he said, "Dr, Halpern in Mineola"

The when I went to the hospital for my pre-op, all the nurses said that he is the one they all use.

I just had it done last month. I am very happy with the results. Everyone at the hospital (Winthrop) was extremely nice and made my surgery pleasant.

he works out of Nassau Surgical Associates.

Hernia Surgery

I had mine done on a Friday. Saturday and Sunday were rough. By a week later I felt okay. It was a good 4-6 weeks before I was back to "normal" though. At the time my son was 2 years 8 months and my younger daughter was 5 months. I couldn't lift him for at least the first six weeks after and although I was able to pick her up I couldn't carry her for long periods for the first 2 weeks or so.
