high fever after mmr or varicella
SO ds got mmr and varicella last friday he got a runny nose on monday folowed by low grade fever (never took his temp) now 8 days later has a 102.7 fever
IS this a new temp/infection? or a side effect ?

I would think side effect. Our ped told us to possibly expect a high fever 7-10 days after the MMR. It never hurts to call the ped though!

with mmr they can develop a fever, rash, and/or crankiness about 7-10 days after the shot.

Yes, totally normal side effect. DS had a really high fever at day 9 after his MMR and chkn pox shot. For a couple days I think...

DD had 4 days of high fever, starting on day 7 after the mmr.
