High fever. No other symptoms??????
Dd 2yrs old has a high fever for 3 days now. No other symptoms. Brought her to dr and he said its viral. Her ears were clear. Throat a lil red. When the tylenol or motrin wears off it goes up to 103.5ish. Is this strange. Shouldnt she have atleast another symptom. Anything like this going around? How long does it last?

Re: High fever. No other symptoms??????
My kids have gotten the fever virus in the wnter - 3-5 days of fever nothing else. I have heard it is going around. My first thought would be coxsackie though. Not as common in the winter but I do hear it goes around. MY daughter had 3 days of fever - high- then the blisters appeared in her mouth.

Nope sounds like a run of the mill fever virus. I would take those over all the other things to get. Don't be suprised if your DC breaks out in a rash whenthe fever goes away. Hope your DC feels better soon.

Re: High fever. No other symptoms??????
My DS always got viral fevers when he was teething - especially with the back teeth.
Every single time I brought him in, the Doctor would tell me he is teething bad, but he can't get fevers from it. No other symptoms but the teeth.
When DS was cutting his back molars in the summer and I took him to see his Ped. He looked at his chart and FINALLY said to me 'ok, I believe fevers can be associated with teething, your DS clearly gets them at that point'
They last 4 days - fever going up and down from 99 to 103. I just kept giving him Motrin and Tylenol to keep him comfortable.
