High fever virus
So I have been hearing about this and now DD who is 4 woke up at 3am last night vomiting. I gave her zofran after she threw up about 6 times since she tends to get very dehydrated quickly. She only threw up one more time after she woke up in the morning (she only fell back to sleep for an hour) Now she is fine with the vomiting-hasn't since this morning and ate chicken broth with stars and toast. She comes to me complaining she is cold and shivering. She had mortin about 3 hours ago so now I am worried. I haven't taken her temp but I think its pretty high. What is the deal with this illness? Flu??? She had her flu shot.

Re: High fever virus
My DD has been sick since a week ago today. She did not experience any vomiting whatsoever, so I don't think your DD has the same thing.
My ped has ruled out pnuemonia, and all other bacterial infections, and clinically says she has the flu. IDK if I agree, b/c every adult I know that has actually gotten a confirmed diagnosis of the flu, has been knocked on their arse unable to move for days, and that is not the case w/ DD.

Re: High fever virus
It doesn't sound like the flu, that is coughing/high fever/body aches and you are in bed, down for the count, for days.
The vomiting and fever combo sounds like a bad stomach virus. Hopefully it is short-lived, and try to just get fluids in her, Motrin for the fever.
Unfortunately the flu shot does not prevent this virus, it seems to come around every winter.
