High School Interview Questions
I have an interview at a high school and have never taught the level. Can any of you offer some advice on the types of questions that will be asked.
Thanks!

Re: High School Interview Questions
Questions I have been asked:
1. Typical day in your classroom from start to finish
2. parent-teacher contact
3. technology in the classroom
4. classroom management - and at least one specific example of an issue that I have dealt with
5. how do you deal with struggling students
6. what made you choose our district
7. what made you decide to become a teacher
8. how would your students describe you

Re: High School Interview Questions
to add to Christina's questions...
* what was the last book you read * what was your best/worst lesson * what is your lesson planning process * how would you handle an exam where the entire class did poorly * what do you do with a hard parent

Re: High School Interview Questions
I did alot of interviewing last year.
They always asked me to describe a lesson. Make sure you mention differentiaton of instruction- thats huge on interviews.
Your strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. How will you/do you address those weaknesses?

Re: High School Interview Questions
Two words...........
DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION!!!
That's big now! They will most DEFINITELY want to know how you plan to differentiate your lessons!!!!!!!! Make sure you can answer that!! FM if you need any suggestions. It's very strongly enforced in my school!
Good luck!!
ETA: Might want to bring in a sample of a lesson plan that shows an example of differentiated instruction!!
