https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/31/health/fully-vaccinated-people-breakthrough-hospitalization-death/index.html

(CNN)More than 99.99% of people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 have not had a breakthrough case resulting in hospitalization or death, according to the latest data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The data highlights what leading health experts across the country have highlighted for months: Covid-19 vaccines are very effective at preventing serious illness and death from Covid-19 and are the country's best shot at slowing the pandemic down and avoiding further suffering.
The CDC reported 6,587 Covid-19 breakthrough cases as of July 26, including 6,239 hospitalizations and 1,263 deaths. At that time, more than 163 million people in the United States were fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Divide those severe breakthrough cases by the total fully vaccinated population for the result: less than 0.004% of fully vaccinated people had a breakthrough case that led to hospitalization and less than 0.001% of fully vaccinated people died from a breakthrough Covid-19 case.
Most of the breakthrough cases -- about 74% -- occurred among adults 65 or older.

I don't get why people lie. My vaccinated friends and family know we're unvaccinated. If they are uncomfortable they won't hang around us. I see no need to lie. And by the way it shouldn't matter someones vaccination status. If you are vaccinated then why are you worried about those who aren't? I really don't get it.

One of my friends who has been fully vaccinated for a while just came down with COVID and we were all supposed to hang out this weekend. Thank God she found out before but obviously her vaccination status didn't prevent her from getting COVID...as a matter of fact she's pretty sure she got it from another vaccinated member of her family which is why she tested.

It matter to those who are vaccinated because even though a vaccinated person can spread the virus, they are likely to carry a much lower viral load - meaning they are likely to spread a much smaller amount of viral particles. Less particles means less likelihood of getting sick. More particles (which an unvaccinated person is likely to spread) means a greater likelihood that whoever "catches" the particles will get sick.

Not sure if this applies to this very contagious variant hence why so many vaccinated people are getting COVID and still spreading it...

Unless you are absolutely guaranteed not to spread the virus then you should be following the same protocols of the unvaccinated when it comes to community rules. Common sense IMO.

There truly is not enough data out there to know if a vaccinated person got it from an unvaccinated person. UNLESS that person saw absolutely no one else that was not vaccinated and those people also. I can't see anyone being able to do that and know where they got it from.

It is a back and forth as many vaccinated people won't accept that another vaccinated person could give it to them as they were told the efficiency is so high. Vaccinated people ARE hospitalized and dying so not ALL will get less symptoms, unfortunately. We can only hope the vaccine will work for the most part.

It's efficacy, not efficiency.

That aside, UNVACCINATED individuals make up nearly ALL of the current COVID related deaths. Therefore, the vaccine IS doing its job (as its been stated MANY times before to you) and keeping people either asymptomatic or left with a mild case of the virus where they quickly recover.

Where is your data to back yourself up that vaccinated people are getting ill from unvaccinated people?
Vaccinated people are being hospitalized and dying. THAT is NOT a mild case IMO.

Again, almost all current COVID related deaths are attributable to those who are unvaccinated. Feel free to Google, it's information that is literally everywhere online. I know you prefer to peddle untruths but as usual, what you're saying is incorrect.

Funny...as Golden's link disagrees with you...

Here's NPR from just a few weeks ago. Just admit you have no idea what you're talking about instead of asking people to constantly prove you wrong only so you can continue to argue in the face of facts.

I'm speaking to my own link since you continue to insist that vaccinated individuals are dying from COVID when the reality is almost all COVID deaths are from unvaccinated individuals.

Feel free to argue all you want with Golden about his link if you feel the need.

Again, almost all current COVID related deaths are attributable to those who are unvaccinated. Feel free to Google, it's information that is literally everywhere online. I know you prefer to peddle untruths but as usual, what you're saying is incorrect.

Funny...as Golden's link disagrees with you...

The CDC reported 6,587 Covid-19 breakthrough cases as of July 26, including 6,239 hospitalizations and 1,263 deaths.

"Unvaccinated Americans account for virtually all recent COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths," said Jeff Zients, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator. "Each COVID-19 death is tragic, and those happening now are even more tragic because they are preventable."

Did you read the link Golden provided and the info I just took from it?

I'm speaking to my own link since you continue to insist that vaccinated individuals are dying from COVID when the reality is almost all COVID deaths are from unvaccinated individuals.

Feel free to argue all you want with Golden about his link if you feel the need.

(CNN)More than 99.99% of people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 have not had a breakthrough case resulting in hospitalization or death, according to the latest data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Oh! And this.........

Divide those severe breakthrough cases by the total fully vaccinated population for the result: less than 0.004% of fully vaccinated people had a breakthrough case that led to hospitalization and less than 0.001% of fully vaccinated people died from a breakthrough Covid-19 case.

Since you're a little slow on the uptake with this, that means that almost all of the deaths we're seeing from COVID are from those who are UNVACCINATED .

Hmmm...I was crazy when I mentioned a Third Dose

I just read that the White House will be recommending a booster 8 months after being vaccinated. I am assuming that we will be having Covid/flu season going forward. Curious how do we move from a pandemic to an endemic? I feel like that is probably where this is headed

I was just coming on to say this.

It will end next November after mid term elections.

The WH that isn't even mandating the vaccine to be present there.

Meanwhile on CNN this morning the WHO is not recommending the booster bc so many in other countries still need first and second doses and Americans are still protected at 8 months. Which science are we following? I’m confused? White House science? WHO science? This is no longer about science and never was as I’m still waiting for my questions from last week to be answered. There is no plan (just like other current events) it’s make it up as we go and do what’s best for themselves.

There is NO plan but funny how people on this board INSIST they know that the vaccine works, not 100%, mind you, but it WILL work for a longer period of time. Even though they are now saying the percentage goes down over time, and they are still fine with that.
NO ONE seems to know EXACTLY how long it will last on each person so all the people with the vaccine with this false security that they are fine might just not be.

I was just speaking to my mom, who got both of her vaccines regarding the booster and she said she will probably not get it. She is now afraid after what happened to her eye after the 2nd vaccine. Your eyesight is not something you mess with and there are so many different issues people have had with the vaccines.

I am sure the amount of people going to go for the booster will go down, especially ones who had issues with the vaccines they already had.
