holiday gifts for therapists?
This is my first holiday season where DS has had therapists so I am starting to think about gifts. He now attends a special needs pre-school and has 1 main classroom teacher plus 8 assistants that rotate working with him each day (for ABA). Plus I just got him approved for speech sessions and soon to be adding PT and OT as well! I just wanted to get a sense of what you have gotten your DC's therapists in the past? I feel like I am going to go broke with the amount of therapists he has... TIA!

Re: holiday gifts for therapists?
I'll be honest, I didnt get gifts for his therapists once he was in a center based program. I just couldnt afford it. I got for his main teacher and his two classroom aides. I also got for his bus drivers and aides. If he has that many teachers rotating, I would think about doing a classroom gift (like cookies or something along that line). My son is in Kindergarten and he has two bus drivers, one teacher one sp. ed teacher a 1:1 aide, a classroom aide, pt, ot....i can't get everyone something.

holiday gifts for therapists?
Holidays make me broke. This year I am actually excited because we mainstreamed my DD and she only had one teacher and one aide compared to last year where she had 2 teachers and 7 aides. We do get her related services therapists some sort of gift as well as all of her specials teachers. Depending on how much they do for my DD is how much they get lol. Our speech therapist goes above and beyond so she gets a nice gift while our OT never communicates....she got a small tin of cookies.
This year we are giving out cookies to everyone and her teacher, aide, behaviorist, and speech therapist will be getting gift cards as well.

Thank you both, this helps! I was leaning toward just getting his main teacher a gift but now I will look into getting a classroom gift as well.

Also, what I did for a few years was to either provide lunch or breakfast to the classroom as a thank you. We did a sandwich platter one year, one year pizza and another bagels. The aides all loved that as well.

I did always send something, even if just a $5.00 gift card for DD. One year I did a small gift bag with a chapstick, and travel sizes of hand sanitizer and hand lotion. The PT loved that one.

I work in a school as an aide and last year a parent sent in heros and salads as a group gift for lunch. Honestly everyone in the class enjoyed the gift.

I am a therapist that works in a school setting and completely understand not everyone is in a position to give a holiday "gift" or do I expect one - however just a card saying thank you / happy holidays is ALWAYS greatly appreciated !!!!

Re: holiday gifts for therapists?
Thanks all. One of the moms in the class actually sent a note out to all of the parents asking everyone to chip in to get the main teacher a GC and assigned each student to get a gift for 1 assistant so it seems this may work out!
