Re: Home to Hospital Distance...
My GF lives in Centereach and her (our) OB is in Manhasset - over an hour commute on a good day...
If this is your first baby, chances of you having your baby in the car is slim to none... Our OB's general rule is minute long contractions every 3-4 minutes (and that was for my GF too who lives so far away)...
IDK if this will make you feel better, but the day Laura went into labor, she was 3 min apart lasting 1 minute... she and DH got on the road and the LIE and Northern State were both shut down for a portion... they had to take 25A - all lights. Not to mention that they had to drop off their dog on the way to her ILs... They get to the hospital, now two mins apart and when she was examined, she was only 4-5 cm... She didn't have the baby for a number of hours later.
So, with that said, I think you'll be OK!! NO WORRIES!!!

Re: Home to Hospital Distance...
Im only 10-15mins from home to hospital. I think u can make it just fine but thats going to be the longest and most uncomfortable car ride of your life.
