homemade pizza
what kind of pan do you use? also... do you use round or rectangular?
i use my grandmothers old pizza pan... but i need more! We always make rectangular ones in my family... but I don't know if a jelly roll pan would do!

Re: homemade pizza
i use cheapo round baking pans that i got at BBB. i haven't graduated to a pizza stone, yet... but i can't wait.
i make round pizzas... everyone gets an individual pizza. the only thing i don't like about pizza night, at my house, is that it's a slow process because i'm making them one by one
i use peter reignhart's recipe... yummy

I got a pampered chef stone recently for pizza... and I am so disappointed, the bottom of the pizza does not brown and the large bar pan is too small for pizza! I prefer metal pans, so maybe don't rush to use a stone! haha

Re: homemade pizza
I use the round calphalon one. I love it!!! One trick I found is to bake the dough for 2 minutes, then take it out and put the toppings on, then put it back in.

Re: homemade pizza
I have used the calphalon jelly roll pans for rectangular pizzas and they work well. I also have a cheapo round stone from target for round pizzas.

Re: homemade pizza
We have a large stone from Williams-Sonoma and love it! It covers the entire rack of the oven and is large enough to cook a large pizza on. I love how crispy the crust is with it!

Re: homemade pizza
We use a standard cookie sheet. DW gets the first one on the table, then starts the 2nd one, and we start eating when the 2nd goes in the oven. That gives the 1st a little time to cool down. Usually, the 2nd is done right around when we finish the 1st. She then makes the 3rd pie, which, depending on how much DS eats, we may or may not touch. (He eats from 2 to 7 slices! )
They are (approximately) round pies....

Re: homemade pizza
I use a sheet pan and do not make a circle. I just spread it out and top with topings, much like how they do at Whole Foods.
