Horrible news from the RE.........
I just returned from the RE......I am devastated....it took all I had to not break down in the office in front of the doctor.
He said that I def have premature ovarian failure (pof), this means that my eggs are not of a good quality....my FSH was 42, he said that they will not harvest my eggs, because they would not work.
My one tube that we had been told was blocked is not, so he said that there is a slim -slim possibility that I could get pregnant on my own, although not very likely because of the egg quality.
He said that I should be on hormones, because I am in peri-menopause, but if I want to have child either through ivf (egg donor) or on my own, than I should not do it.
I am so devastated, my insurance will only cover me having IVF through Dr. Rosenfelds office. So even if I went for a second opinion, he would not do it with my eggs, it would have to be a donor......
my only option is egg donor......
I just dont understand, I am only 25 years old.....I just can't stop crying!

please take some time to absorb the news and mourn the loss of the use of your eggs for a bit.
eventually you will know in your heart if and when you're ready to proceed

I am so sorry.
Give yourself time. Then do your research and see if you can find others in your position and what they have done.
I myself go back and forth with DE. It's a tough decision and a financial decision. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to find some women who have done this and ask some questions also.
But, for now, just let yourself feel what ever you are feeling.
We're all here for you.

I know exactly how you are feeling.
I am getting a second opinion if not for anything else..peace of mind..
I'm so sorry you are in this spot, so am I to a degree.
Let yourself grieve, then think about your options and you will know what to do.
The last 24 hours for me has been horrible..I know it has been for you too.
I am here for you as you and everyone else here is for me.
You will get through this..I will too..we will do it together.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.
I agree with whomever said to get a second opinion.
It's unfortunate, but some clinics go right to the egg donor speech without trying other things. And other clinics are more versed in issues like yours and may have other options for you.
I'm not sure where you are going, and I certainly don't want to give you false hope, but I would at least try another place.

I am so sorry! However, I would not throw in the towel yet....have you explored accupunture and herbs? An organic diet? The book Inconcievable is an important read. So is the Infertility Cure. Both of those look at alternatives for our bodies!
