Re: Hospital Bag- Please post list of things to pack
I know people have lists, but here's what's in mine:
3 PJ's (button down top or tank top and elastic capri sweats)
5 pairs of cotton panties I got at Target and plan on tossing after 1 robe 1 pair slippers a bunch of socks and some have the non-slip rubber at the bottom flipflops for shower towel for shower
makeup bag with lotions, small shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, some makeup, qtips, hairbrush, etc (for pics of course) nursing bras, sports bra
going home outfit for myself (cute tank that says "Hot Mamma" and sweatsuit going home outfit for the baby insurance stuff CBR chord box (we're doing this) strep results from the Doc that's negative lollipops, candy, camera, chapstick...
they say your mouth gets dry and you can only have icechips so lollipops and chapstick are good to have
snack for later or for DH list of #'s to call cell phone and charger
Edited to add... deoderant and headbands and hair tie. Also, anything for DH like a change of clothes and some other stuff

Re: Hospital Bag- Please post list of things to pack
Well as a start: For labor - I honestly didn't use anything b.c they had a TV and after being in my L&D room for hours I was tired and ended up with a section so I didn't use any of the recommended things - but at least maybe an IPOD or other thing to listen to music - if you need it speakers.
After labor you will want:
Your own pillow and pillow case to be more comfortable.
night gowns or pants and tops (many people wear the hospital gowns for a night or two) whatever you pick don't bring anything good b.c you will bleed a lot and don't want to get it ruined. Also if you go with pants don't get anything tight or low b.c if you end up with a section it will be very uncomfortable.
Granny underwear- but honestly the hospital mesh ones are probably best since they will probably get ruined. But I at least brought them anyway.
Large pads in case you don't like the hospital ones. I used the ones they gave me but know a lot of people who didn't.
a robe or other cover up in case you have guests or you want/need to walk the hallways
flip flops for the shower and to just walk around in
towels
toiletries - shampoo, soap, conditioner, tooth brush, tooth paste, hair brush, clips if you want them, whatever else you want to make you feel more human and comfortable.
Books or magazines - you might not every touch them b.c you will probably be tired but it is nice to have the option if you want to relax a bit.
numbers of anyone you want to call or want DH to call to tell them that you delivered.
I just brought a small carry on size rolling bag. I saw people with everything from like 3 small bags to HUGE suitcases. If you forget something you can always ask someone to bring it to you at the hospital as long as you have the basics.

Re: Hospital Bag- Please post list of things to pack
At my doctor visit this morning, I grabbed a little "Babytalk pregnancy planner" magazine booklet (it's smaller than a full mag) and it actually had a nice simple hospital bag list that just may become mine....
-a robe and slippers (opt for the hospital gown rather than stain something sentimental)
-two nursing bras and a nursing pillow if you're planning to breastfeed
-several pairs of underwear (the hospitals have disposable ones, too)
-toiletries, a little makeup for pictures, eyeglasses
-your cell phone
-your insurance card
-labor aids (lip balm, music, an item to focus on)
-post-delivery snacks, like trail mix, fruit, crackers and granola bars
-change for the vending machines (so Dad doesn't have to run out at a critical moment)
-your camera and/or videocamera
-a going home outfit for the baby
-a going home outfit for you (yes, that still means maternity clothes)
Thought that seemed simple non vacation like.
