Hospital Tours- LIJ/North Shore

I am currently pregnant and am moving to LI. I haven't found a new doctor yet, and was interested in going on the a hospital tour at LIJ and Northshore before finalizing my doctor decision.

Does anyone know how to contact the hospital to do this, or did you do it through your doctor. I can't remember what I did with my first, and that was in Washington state anyways.

You contact the hospital directly. LIJ's new women's hospital is opening in a couple of months - if you're not due before then I'd wait to go on a tour there.

agreed w the above poster. wanted to add that we just went on our tour of north shore manhasset and the maternity rooms are awesome. everyone gets their own room, and they are almost like hotel rooms, w a pull out couch for hubby.

it's a group tour at north shore, so when you call they will give you the date of the next one and you'll get a presentation of all hospital info and then they show you around. the nurse who gave us our tour was lovely and informative. we're very happy to be delivering there.

also, if you would like the rec of a great OBGYN practice, mine is ProHealth in New Hyde Park and i'm very happy w them. i switched to them when i found out i was pregnant b/c i was unhappy w my last practice, and i've had a great experience there. my main OB is Dr. Davidson and he is the best gyno i've ever been to, i feel very confident and comfortable w him. but they also recommend you see every Dr. in the practice during your pregnancy and i've really felt very comfortable w all of them. if you need the contact info feel free to message me.
