Hot stone massage?
What exactly is it? I just booked one for spa week and Im a little nervous thinking about them putting hot stones on me.

Oh I love them. They are these flat black bassalt stones that are warm and then placed on you. They they take one of the stones to massage you. Each limb gets its own stone. They massage you and use the additional pressure and warmth of the stone to help. It is extremely relaxing.

There are basalt stones (lava stones). They retain heat much better than other stones. They are about 2-4 inches depending on what area of the body is being massaged.
They are NOT supposed to be burning you.
The therapist will keep moving them as you are being massaged with the stones. She/He will be using bare hands so they cannot be that hot.  She/He will use new stones as they get colder so you will always have "hot" stones touching you.
They will place some of them on top of the sheet/blanket along your spine.
I personally love that massage. If you get easily cold, you will feel warm during the entire massage. It's very relaxing!

The warmth feels nice and you will love it--I do prefer a hands-on massage though.
