Hot weather parties
So we're having Ryan's party next wkend and it's going to be 94 degrees according to the weather channel... I am putting spray bottles on each table nad have a baby pool/slip n slide for teh kids. Any other ideas of how to keep eople cool - fun ideas, maybe water ballons? It's mostly adults though so not sure how that would go over> My house is too small to accommodate everyone

Re: Hot weather parties
When it was boiling hot, our friends rented huge outdoor fans

Re: Hot weather parties
Thanks! I hadn't thought of italian ices, I really like that idea!! we'll have like 6 coolers going so I can just throw them in there.
We ordered 2 large (40") pedestal fans to be delivered w/the tent. I guess a warm breeze is better than none, LOL. Figures THIS weekend will be 86 (which is cool in VA in August) - oh well!! Any other suggestions are welcome, thanks ladies!

One more thing...be careful with water balloons. Since the breaking is the point of the game, you have lot of little rubber pieces of balloons around the lawn. If the kids are older it's not a problem but for babies...

Re: Hot weather parties
We had DSs Christening 2 weeks ago on that brutal saturday and we had 30 soemthing people in our backyard at the height of the heat! We went and got a 2 cheap car ports to put up as tents cause they were like 10' X 20' and we could fit two tables of 6 under each. The next best thing to being out of the direct sun, was I borrowed 2 big high powered fans to help circulate the air under the tents and people would stand in front of them to cool off and get a breeze under their clothes. By about 5:30 is started to feel a bit better, but I felt so bad for everyone up till then. Oh, and gets lots of water!!! People really didn't seem interested in having anything but water until later in the afternoon. Have fun!
