House for Sale in Brooklyn - - got to see these pics! (ok, it's in Toronto!)
I got this in an email, so I can't vouch that's it's 100 percent real, but it looked it and whether or not it is, I thought it was rather funny. I always thought my house was small, but after looking at this, I guess its not!!
you have to know this part of brooklyn to appreciate this!
This house, located near the intersection of Ave T and Van Sicklen is believed to be Brooklyns smallest house. Occupying what used to be a driveway, it's a one bedroom, one bathroom home that sits on a parcel of land 7.25 feet (2.2 metres) wide and 113.67 feet (34.6 metres) long and has an interior area of just under 300 square feet (under 28 square metres).

179k actually isn't that bad considering.
My friend bought a 1br co-op in Brooklyn for 180k two years ago.

I keep going through the pictures, but can't figure out where the bathroom is? The photos seem to show every square inch of space, but I don't see any bathroom...

that house has been on HGTV a few times & does anyone remember that Dido video for that popular song of hers a few years back? It had a tiny house like that in the middle of big buildings, she's canadian I think.

i think it's cute... oprah did a show on small spaces, and they showed a guy who lived in a 300 sq ft. place.
you just have to be creative in designing where everything goes.
nate berkus redid a woman's NYC small apt. and it turned out beautifully!

not sure what "neighborhood" this is referencing, but I am almost positive that Van Siclen and Avenue T never intersect. Also note that Van Siclen is misspelled in the email.
furthermore, no true brooklynite would ever do that...so if it were in brooklyn, it'd probably be in Williamsburg, where the invasion began.

weird. on the maps I am looking at, it's spelled Van Siclen.
and it's not coming up for me. my family lives in Gravesend...maybe I'll give them a call to clear things up.
regardless...it just wouldn't be brooklyn...especially that far in...not yet.
ETA: the train stops are spelled Van Siclen....
not sure if this was posted, but the fine folks at Brooklyn Junction already investigated this. and from the comments, it appears I was right. Van Siclen and Ave T do not intersect.
I will plug it in to my gps tonight to verify though.
or maybe some of my other brooklyn peeps can shed some light.
