Housewarming Party menu
I want to host a houswarming party for my co-workers in my new house at the end of the month.
What can I serve that is easy, good to sit out or be in warming trays but wouldnt have DH slaving over the grill all day?
Its probably going to be around 20-30 people in and out over a few hours.

Re: Housewarming Party menu
if you're going to do hor d'ouerves, i love this baked brie recipe. super easy and tasty:
ingred: wheel of brie 1/2 cup pecans maple syrup brown sugar
bake brie for 20 minutes @ 350. Take out of oven and put pecans in for 10-15 minutes. Pour pecans on top of brie. in a pan, combine and heat 3 tablespoons of syrup w/ 2 tablespoons brown sugar. It will bubble in a few seconds, take off the stove immediately and pour.
so yummy!!!

This was a big hit at my housewarming party:
7 Layer Mexican Dip
1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa 1 large tomato, chopped 1 green bell pepper, chopped 1 bunch chopped green onions 1 small head iceberg lettuce, shredded 1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS In a medium bowl, blend the taco seasoning mix and refried beans. Spread the mixture onto a large serving platter. Mix the sour cream and cream cheese in a medium bowl. Spread over the refried beans. Top the layers with salsa. Place a layer of tomato, green bell pepper, green onions and lettuce over the salsa, and top with Cheddar cheese. Garnish with black olives.
