How are you dressing your 2/3 month olds at night these days?

I am so scared of him overheating (and Tyler is a little sweathod) so I put him in a short sleeved onesie and the Miracle Blanket. His room is a bit chilly (he spends the first half of the night in his room from about 8pm until 2am and then is in our room which is slightly warmer)

Do you think this is ok - or should I have more on him? He never seems uncomfortable, and sometimes even feels alittle sweaty.

I have Lola in the cotton footie pjams from Children's Place. Being that she's swaddled and I put a light blanket over her, I'm not putting her in anything heavier.

So you put her in the footie pjs and then the MB on top of that? Do you think I'm freezing my little man?

James is always in a long-sleeved white onesie with either the fleece footie PJ's from Carter's or the cotton ones from TCP. If it's a particularly chilly night, we'll put him in a fleece sleep sack in addition to his PJ's.

Logan is 5 mos, but that's not too far off 3 mos! He tends to be a warm baby and we keep it pretty cool in the house (his egg thermometer in his room reads 67 deg most days - although I think it's off).

He sleeps in a short sleeved undershirt onesie and either cotton or fleece jammies. He's never swaddled, either. Hated it since the beginning. He also [gasp] sleeps on his belly. With a blanket.

we have been keeping our heat on low...like 64 ( oil costs and b/c our bedroom gets like a furnace..we still use the fan in our room)...so we dress them in feetie pjs, then swaddle in mb and a blanket on top.

ds wears cotton sleep n' play pajamas (with feet) and he is swaddled in the miracle blanket. he sleeps in our room which is pretty warm (about 70). I think it's too warm, but the heat just rises in our house and it's always hot in the bedrooms. we also use a cool mist humidifier to help with the dryness.

I put her in a carter's pj. She is a sweat head too, so anything else is too hot for her. If your DS is the same and you're swaddling him I'm sure he's fine.

Cotton footed onesie and fleece sleepsack. Sometimes I have a short sleeved white tee underneath or a light blanket on top. We keep the room temp at 68 degrees.

Re: How are you dressing your 2/3 month olds at night these days?

DD is almost 2 months and last night (for first time) I put her in a long sleeve shirt (with handcovers attached) in addition to a cotton or fleece footsie.

DD hates being swaddled - I can only do it to her after her 4am feed when she is out of it!

I think you are doing just fine. You could always put a cotton pj/footsie over the onesie. I was nervous she would over-heat...but this morning she was perfectly happy and not sweaty!

ETA: spelling!

Yup, exactly what I do. No, I don't think you are. And if you think you are, just put another blanket on top of him, he's not moving so it won't move. I kind of tuck the blanket into the sides of the crib...kind of like they do in the hospital.

Footy PJs and a sleep sack. Unless the PJs are fleece and then no sleep sack. Sometimes we tuck a receiving blanket around his legs and tuck it into the sides of the crib so he can't knock it out.

I put DS in a short sleeve onesie, either a carters terry or cotton footie pj, and a sleepsack. His room is kept between 70-72 degrees and he seems quite comfortable.

Long sleeve onesie, cotton or fleece footed pj's and a sleepsack. We keep the heat at 67 b/c DD gets stuffy plus we have the humidfier that shoots out cold air.

Re: How are you dressing your 2/3 month olds at night these days?

It varied for us depending on the time of year. Her room is either very chilly or very hot. I need to run her AC by April/May for afternoon naps.

I learned through trial and error. I judged by how she slept - all bunched up in a ball (cold) all spread out (warm). If her diaper was extremely wet or her hands and feet were cold I knew she wasn't dressed warm enough, if she was sweaty she was dressed too warm.

She's older than the age you asked about, now almost 2.5 and tonight is in long sleeve cotton PJ's, a fleece footed sleeper and a fleece sleep sack for walkers. It sounds like a lot but she won't stay under a blanket and we keep it quite cool at night.

This is exactly what I do, house temp and all. Although I do notice the room temp in my 5m old's room is a little warmer than the overall house temp. She's been fine. I almost always use the fleece Pj's till spring with the onsie underneath and fleece sleepsack on top.

DS sleeps in a short sleeved onsie and a Carters cotton PJ on top. It gets pretty warm in his room even though we have the cool mist humidifier running.

DS wears a short sleeve onesie under a long sleeve footed pjs, then i swaddle him. his room is usually 70-71 degrees at night.

does your DS feel warm or cold when you pick him up out of the crib?

our bedrooms are a bit cooler than the rest of the house - usually around 67

i dress him with a short sleeve onsie a fleece footed pj and a fleece sleepsac.
i tried the regular cotton footed pj but his legs and torso were freezing when i changed him in the morning so i went back to using fleece pjs and fleece sleepsac.

i guess it really depends on ur ds - if he feels comfy and warm with what hes wearing then i think its ok.

We put DS in a long sleeved cotton footed pajama and a fleese sleep sack. That's it. His room usually is a degree or 2 warmer than the rest of the place, but he is warm and cozy like that.

The rule of thumb I go by is to dress him pretty much how I dress myself. At night I usually wear short sleeved shirt and pants and sleep with a valor blanket. When he gets up at night I check his torso and back of the neck with the back of my hand and he's usually warm enough. I may go with a long sleeved onsie in your position, but I would not bundle DC.It really depends on your DS. If he's comfy in what you are dressing him, that is fine. Could DC stay in 1 room at night in order to ensure he is dressed appropriately?

My little guy is a little sweatball, so all he gets is footed pjs. Thicker ones on warmer nights, and thinner ones on cooler nights. No onesie underneath, no sleepsacks, no miracle blankets.

Our new apt is so warm, that one night he actually slept in just a shortsleeve onesie. (and his lil body temp was still hot and sweaty, in a I'm warm and snuggly kind ofway)

Re: How are you dressing your 2/3 month olds at night these days?

we've been doing pj's mostly cotton but sometimes fleece (I only have 2 pairs of fleece) and then a fleece sleep sack over that. DS room is the coldest in the house so I'm nervous.
