How did you spend your EDD

So my EDD is going to fall over the holidays and the thought of it is stressing me out so much. I have family staying with me and I really dont know how I am going to feel on the day. I dont want them feeling that they cannot enjoy the day because of me or feeling awkward around me. I dont know how I feel but I do think I will probably be a mess as even thinking about it brings me to tears.

DH really does not get it so he is no help...I doubt he will even remember the date

Should I plan something to do or just plan on staying home/

If you are religious did you go to church that day?

For my due date with my first baby, I made it a very regular day. My original plan was to stay home from work, but then I decided it would make me feel worse to sit home and think. I went to work that day and told some coworkers (who knew it was my due date) that I didn't want to talk about it and I just wanted to go about the day like normal. I was a teacher at the time.


This time around, my triplets' due date is coming up in a few weeks. I don't have some personal attachment to that date, only because they were triplets and would NOT have been born on their due date. I would have been 38 1/2 weeks at this point and they would have absolutely been born by now. In any case, I will be out for dinner with friends that night.


It really is hard... I remember for my first baby just DREADING approaching my due date. The losses have messed with my head so much that instead of being grateful that I'll be pregnant this time around when I pass that due date for the second time, I'm just praying that I still am!!!!

I find that the anticipation for the day is often much worse than the day itself.

For my son's due date we went to the cemetery (he was 21w5d) and had a balloon release. I wrote him a note and tied it to my balloons and let it go. I thought about going to church.

Maybe you could write your baby a letter -- it helps to get those feelings out in some way or another.

My first EDD was between Nove 17 and 24th ---- on Nov 23rd I had a dream that a white dove flew down to talk to me and said that everything was going to be okay and that he (yes in my dream our first loss was a boy) was with my baby brother (who passed at 6 months 28 years ago) were together and then flew away.

The dream put me in a really peaceful place

My EDD is actually on my 2nd year marriage anniversary next July. I'm praying that I'll be pregnant and well into my 2nd trimester by then. {From my mouth to God's ears}

I went about my day pretty much business as usual, but I did call my mom and said 'you know, I was supposed to be giving birth today', and we both broke down.

Having a really down day....AF arrived and for some reason this just really upset me...its like a reminder that I am not pregnant and I should have been...I was SO excited back in may and my mind had already gone into overdrive about having a baby around the holidays and being organised and all I would do to make it as seamless as possible and here we are with no baby coming

I have two beautiful healthy kids so I know I have a lot to be thankful for but I just feel so sad that we were supposed to be a family of 5 this christmas and my family would have been complete in 2011.

Now I dont even know if I want to get pregnant again and it bums me out as I feel like we may be done and I am finishing up on a sad note....

Sorry..I am just all over the place and no one understands except for you guys

have been due around Easter 2012. Like

you I have 2 healthy happy kiddos and they

gave helped me through my darkness

along with friends, family and wonderful

BF and of course this room. I hope you get

to enjoy your Holiday's despite your feeling

of loss and sadness. I hope time heals you

as it is healing me.

I logged onto baby center last month and it said I had a 2 month old I wish...

I didn't remember the actual date, but I think about how we would have had a baby at this point...I was due in September

I was pregnant for what would have been my 1st and 2nd due dates (I had back to back losses), they were sad days, I thought about what could have been, I said a prayer to St. Gerard to help me have a healthy pregnancy and I tried to go on with the day. For me, surrounding myself with family and talking about it to my mom helped.
