How do I find a headhunter?

I know there are many employment agencies but I really wnat to try and find a headhuntter in my field that I can work with to find a position (does this type of thing even still exist) I'm looking for a mid-senior level position in marketing but want to stay on Long Island. I know they seem to be few and far between these days but there are so many companies out there and I know job boards are not the way to go, I'm networking but thought a headhunter would be best solution. I have a job but I really, really am not happy.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I've done searches but can't seem to find any?????

Be careful with these....a lot of companies are not using headhunters (they charge the company 10 - 30% of your salary for their service).

My company has totally eliminated any use of headhunters/recruiters because of the cost.

I recommend contacting any employment agency but continuning to search on your own.
