How do you clean your cutting board?
I have separate cutting boards (all plastic)for meats, veggies, and fruits.
But, I absolutely hate cleaning the cutting board I use when I cut chicken. For some reason I never feel that I get it clean enough (I don't have this issue with red meat).
I just feel like the chicken gets deep into the board and into the teeth of the knife. The board I have is too big to comfortably put in my dishwasher so I hand wash it and it just grosses me out. But when I think about putting it in the dishwasher, I get grossed out thinking about DS' things getting chicken juice on them (crazy, I know).
Anyway, how do you clean the cutting boards you use for chicken? I scrub and scrub and use super hot water and then sterilize the sponge but still

I put them in the dishwasher. All of my cutting boards are also plastic.

Re: How do you clean your cutting board?
I have one from Epicurean that is wood but it's dishwasher safe. They are sold at BBB. I would use that or plastic.
However, I don't usually use a cutting board. I trim my chicken with kitchen scissors right in the package to avoid the cutting board all together.

Re: How do you clean your cutting board?
I put my plastic ones in the dishwasher. Between the washing and the heated dry, I feel like it is well cleaned.
I have two wood ones we clean by hand (and don't use meat on) but they still smell really bad after one year of use and good washings... I am thinking I just want to throw them out and go all plastic...

I do this sometimes too.
The idea of a glass one is interesting too.
Thx!

Re: How do you clean your cutting board?
I have a butcher block board and I use the hell out of it and have never had any problems yet. I usually hand wash with soap and then throw it in the dishwasher. One side for meat and the other side for veg.
