Re: How do you feel about car dvd players?
we've used a portable one on a plane, but DS is really good in the car - he likes looking out the window and pointing things out. But I have no problem with them - I'm sure there will come a time when I will beg to have one in the car.

DH and I have already discussed this... only for trips over a half hour and it will be limited. We don't have the tv on now during the day... there will be plenty of time for that later and it will be limited.
It seems every time I'm at a red light with a mini-van next to me I see kids watching the DVD... way too much passive entertainment.
This is what we are going to do.

Re: How do you feel about car dvd players?
We have a portable dvd player for LONG trips... for everyday trips to the store and stuff NO WAY... they need to learn to entertain themselves, not be glued to the boob tube IMO

Re: How do you feel about car dvd players?
We have one in DH's car since on the ride home from daycare they were falling asleep. If they fell asleep it would mess up their nap if they slept for 15 mintues in the car.
They don't miss it when they are in my car, we switch it to mine when we go on longer trips. In DH"s car though they want it on even if driving for 5 mintues, but we know if we took it out they would be fine too.

We have one in our car and it has been a lifesaver quite a few times with my 2 year old.

Yup, we have it and love it. Helps especially when we drive to Queens or Jersey.
