How do you feel about sad NEWS stories on here?
No offense but it bothers me to read these stories. I get so depressed. I cant even click on them. I know i should be aware of the bad things in the world but sometimes these stories make me very upset and I would be better off not reading them. JMO.

Same here, especially when it involves children. I can't shake those stories for days sometimes.

its reality of life
its sad but i like being informed.
IMO over 80% of stories on the evening news are sad, but i still watch bc i need to know whats happening around me.
Same with sad posts.

I usually dont either.... and NEVER when it says a child or animal is involved... I just cant bare to read it.

I don't watch the news.
I need a bubble of protection from that stuff.
I mean, I know it's out there, and I am aware, but it makes my anxiety increase and I don't need that.

I don't like it as much as the next person but like someone said it's an unfortunate thing in life that happens and somethings can actually help.
Like my story with what happen to me help make people realize life is short and to make sure you have all your paper work in order. I pray to god that no one ever has to go through what I have but in turn it helped not only the girls here to take care of the paper work they needed and it also saved 3 lives in his dontation.
It may not be news worthy but it opened my eyes that you are not exempt from anything in life. one's bad news can be anothers good news, sad as it maybe

Depends on my mood.
I often click on them if it's something I can learn a lesson (for example house fire/dryer burns down the house story) or a story regarding heroics.
There are times I won't even open a post (ie the rat/baby story). I know there is brutality/cruelty out there towards children. I have friends with stories that make me sick to my stomach when I think of them. It's the child stories that hit much too close to home now.

The stories upset me, but I often click on them and read them. I like that I can get news stories, both good and bad, on this site. I doesn't bother me that they are posted. However, the ones that I think are the most useful are the ones that lead to intelligent discussion.

Deb G had made a suggestion that there should be a thread for sad stuff like people needing hugs for a death, or loss of some kind. I don't like that stuff either. Sometimes there are SO many in one day.

I agree. Sometimes, the posts leave me feeling profoundly sad though. There are some times that I just cannot bring myself to open sad posts, like the one yest about the child and rats.
