How do you feel about your working situation?

Just wanted to see how everyone feels about working and/or being a stay at home mom.

I work FT outside the home and love it! I just wish I could do 4 days instead of 5.

I am a SAHM, but wish I worked outside of the home. Don't get me wrong I ABSOLUTELY love being home w/ DS, however we are financially JUST making it (some months are better than others) and we want a house. If I was working our debt would get paid off faster and we'd be able to get a house.

I don't know if I LOVE working, but I definately know that I enjoy my work and I enjoy my time with DS. And I am doing what is finanacially right for my family.

I work outside the home 3 days a week. Love it, it is the perfect balance for me!

I just did the "final" step and completely changed my career field. I had been working in a office for years. Went back to school and started developping my business. I now work 4 days per week instead of 5.

I'm somewhere between the last two. While I'm very happy at work (I always say "Thank God I love what I do"), I do wish I could be home with DD. I'd love to be in two places at one time, but since that's impossible, I'm very happy with the situation considering I don't have the option to stay home.

I work outside the home and LOVE my job but I'd rather be home with my own kids.

I work outside the home FT. I've been very successful in my career. I have a great job, great pay, great benefits, and great responsibility (that's the not so great part). I have to work because of our financial situation. However, for my sanity I couldn't be a SAHM. After my 3 months leave I thought I would go nuts. That having been said, my ideal would be my same job, 4 days a week, 8-3 with same pay and all. Then I would really get the perfect balance.

I work FT and truly enjoy what I do. Was a SAHM for a year and I was miserable. I'm much happier now, I feel complete.

I am a SAHM who works from home 20 hours per week for my old corporate job. I'm not completely happy. Now that my kids are not babies anymore, I am excited that I am starting my own retail business (cooking school and boutique kitchen store!) that will open in May 2008. I feel alive again! I am so glad I was able to be home all the time for the last three years, but I need more in my life since I was very career minded and enjoy being challenged. SO....I'll have the best of both worlds...I'll be my own boss and get to work outside the home, yet still have plenty of time during the day with my children as they will only go to daycare from 9-1 4 days a week.

Being a SAHM is really hard and I know for sure that I will be a better mom with more patience if I worked outisde of the home.

I work outside the home and LOVE it.
I am a teacher at a high school, so my hours are 7-2, so I get plenty of time to spend with my boys when I get home

I work outside the home as a teacher (Pre-K) but I'm home by 3:30 & get to spend lots of time w/ DD...also DH or MIL watches baby during the week so I know she's in good hands. If she were at daycare I'd do all I can to be a SAHM.

We couldn't do it right now on 1 salary

I work FT outside of the home but if I had the opportunity, I would rather work 3 days instead of 5 days

I work full-time but work from home 2 days a week, so I'm only in the city 3 days a week. It's perfect for me. I get time to go to work and have adult time, and the other days I get to see my baby anytime I want, while working!

Working 5 days a week wish it were 4 days or 6 hr days until DD is at least 2 years old.

I did the SAHM route the first time and was biting at the bit at the 2 year mark. I looked for a job and jumpe dback in the work force- I liked the independence knowing that when I bought something for DH it was my own money and not his that I was respending on him if that makes sense. Plus it was nice to get dressed up and feel like a woman again instead of always being in sweats and drool lol

I work part time and I love it. I feel like I get the best of both worlds. I only work a few hours a day, 4 days a week and I make good money.

I did not vote cause I could not pick form those choices. See I Work FT and I really love my job but I wish I could work PT. To me that would be the best of both worlds.
