It depends on the person and situation....
If it someone I care to keep a friendship with I confront them...try and work things out...
If it someone I could care less about ...I ignore them and right them off.... (and depending on the situation I may go for a little revenge)

For me, it depends on the situation whether I confront them or let it go. Either way, I would lose respect for the person.

I can honestly say I dont think anyone I know has ever stabbed me in the back...
done some messed up things maybe, but I try to find reasons for that, work it out or let it go...but no one has ever done anything like stabbing me in the back.
If they did, I would up and walk away, I do not think I would deal well with it, nor should I have to.

I break out the friendship scissors and SNIP SNIP SNIP! No need for people like that in my life. I am really lucky to have no one in my life like that anymore.
