How do you know if your DC has a formula issue
My DD has been very cranky the past 2 days and especially today. She just cries when awake. I dont know what is wrong and i am questioning if she has an issue with formula.
she has been burping like a champ and going to the bathroom great so i am not sure....

Re: How do you know if your DC has a formula issue
I would ask your ped. I thought my DS was having formula issues and it turned out he needed a different bottle the one we were using was too fast and causing too much gas. This seems to have helped him out!!!

Re: How do you know if your DC has a formula issue
I would wait a few days and then call the ped. Make note of anything out of the ordinary that she is doing (pulling knees to chest, crying while feeding, spitting up a lot, etc.)
My DS was on Similac Advance but he had terrible gas problems and would pull his knees to his chest and would cry mid feeding. He was also colicky. After talking to his ped I changed to Similac Sensitive and I add gas drops to each bottle, which helped him out a lot.

She's very content sting so I guess that's good and I am going to feel her belly when she wakes up. Maybe she is just having one of those days

Re: How do you know if your DC has a formula issue
my DS was a mess on similac advance, he would scream while eating, he would jolt himself away from the bottle, he was very gassy and would cry so much. I called the dr. after a few days of this and he told me to bring him right in, they tested his stool and there was some microscopic blood in it which meant it was the beginning of a milk allergy -- he was switched to Similac Alimentum right away and within days he was a different baby.
It's been a little over a month on the new formula and he is doing amazing, gaining so much weight (although he never had a weight gain problem with the other formula) he's gassy from time to time but that's normal - we just make him fennel tea and it helps him

Re: How do you know if your DC has a formula issue
I m not 100% sure if it was the formula that was bothering DD but she went from being happy and content to very very unhappy this weekend and has had an issue with gas so I switched her from Enfamil Newborn to Enfamil Gentlease and knock on wood the last 4 days have been great and she is much happier.
Not sure what formula you are using but it might be worth it to try a fussy/gassy one and see if she improves at all. I noticed a difference in DD within like 2 bottles after switching. I also started to use one brand/type of bottle exclusively instead of switching between two brands.
