How do you plan on telling DH (I know this has been done before)

I am like the queen of scenario fantasizing these days...and ive been thinking today of ways i would tell Dh once I get a BFP...

What have you done or plan to do?

Knowing me I would have this great plan and then screw everything up and just blurt it out.

I would love to hear as well. I would plan it but it mostly likely would be me screaming in the wee hours in the morning..

honestly i was so shocked that i went in the bedroom (he was still sleeping), shook him, and whispered "you NEED to get up" and he's all grumbly "why, im off today, why can't you let me sleep?" so i blurted out "im pregnant" lol.
not terribly exciting, but, it got him out of bed!

My husband wants to be a part of it and wont let me take the test with out him. Well, he wants to be there for the results, not the actual test taking

we tested together the first time. i waited until i was late to test and i had a gut feeling it would be a bfp so he was in the bathroom with me. the line was SO faint and he kept picking it up and was staring saying "are you sure? are you sure thats a line?" of course i was screaming like a lunatic and was so excited...then we went to dinner to celebrate...

next time it will probably be the same. i don't feel right testing without him for some reason. we made the baby together i feel like we should find out together...

but who knows, maybe i'll want to surprise him since next time will be so different being its the second pregnancy? i don't know?

I always wanted to do something cute to tell people, I thought about wrapping the POAS in a bracelet box and giving it to my mom, a key chain or something for my sis...never really thought how to tell DH

One of my favorite lines from a song says "I can just see you with a baby on the way" and I would love to somehow incorporate that. Maybe I'll play that song and show him the test. I've also thought about having SD put on a shirt that says Future Big Sister or Big Sister To Be, but she's not with us everyday and there's no way I'd be able to wait if she wasn't going to be with us for a few days.

Who am I really kidding though? What will probably happen is, I'll look at the test, jump up and down, bang my head on something, get a concussion and pass out. DH will find me later on, passed out with the test in my hand.

I had all of these big plans and they all went out the window.

I was testing out of routine every few days to confirm that I wasn't pregnant as I waited out my dr appt for provera. Didn't think there was a chance of a BFP; thought I was having an anovulatory cycle. I saw a faint second line I and texted a close friend a pic with "***" as the caption. When she started freaking out I decided to wake up DH and show him the pee stick but he was half awake and didn't know what a positive internet cheapy even looked like, so he said he saw a second line but that I wasn't pregnant and went back to sleep. I had to google pictures of faint positives and pee on a few more tests before he realized "a line is a line" and started to get excited.

Not the surprise I had planned but I guess it's funny in retrospect

With DD, we were just winging it and I had been shopping at Target and decided to pick up some HPT's....I got home and started cooking dinner....I had to pee and though, "what the heck"...I peed on the stick and put it on the sink and went back to check dinner...After a few minutes I remembered the test and went back to throw it away before DH saw it (I was SURE I wasn't pregnant)! I saw the BFP and almost screamed! I was so excited I ran into the living room where DH was, the test behind my back..said "You want to have a baby?" and showed him the test....After he picked his jaw up off the floor, he said "Next time give me a chance to answer!!" Then I went back to making dinner...mostly because I didn't know what else to do!

It was nowhere near the romantic dinner I'd planned in my head.

So this time....I don't know, I thought about showing up to his job (he works nights), but I'll probably just tell him when he gets home!

I can never keep anything from him, I'm sure I will just blurt it out knowing me. But I hope to plan some cute way of telling both sets of parents once it happens.

DH would KILL me if I tested without him. Do you all test alone...without your DH present?

Mine was a little interesting. I had thought that I had gotten AF and only tested because I saw temps rising higher and higher. When DH got home from work that morning I went into the kitchen and said, "I had my period right? You saw it, right?" (we BD toward the end of bleeding and he saw it). So he says, "Yeah" I pulled out the stick and said, "So what's this?!?!" Then I started crying hysterically saying, "What's wrong with me?!?!?"
Well, that pregnancy only lasted 5 weeks so I guess in my gut I knew something really was wrong with me.
I'll do it differently next time!

I always think about how Im going to tell him. When I got pg earlier last year I found out in the morning and waited for him to get up.. I actually went through my normal workout routine, took a shower, did my hair... and didn't say a word. I was so nervous!! I figured out our EDD and it was 12/26. Then I said to him I know it's early but have you thought anything about what you want for Christmas.. After he looked at me like a nut.. I said "how about a baby... Im pregnant!" His reaction was awesome because he never really expressed how he wanted one (not wanting to sway my opinion since I wanted to wait) but he just looked so excited!! It was great.
This time, Id like to do something similar where he's surprised.
I cant wait!!!

I'd love to get a cute I heart daddy onesie and maybe just lay it on the bed with the test for him to see. The problem is I've never found one in the stores and I might be too paranoid to buy one anyway! I know if I don't have it ready and waiting when I get my BFP I'll just blurt it out. There's no way I'd ever be able to wait to tell him!

With our 1st dc I tested at home in the evening. I actually had dh pick up the tests while he was out. I'm still not sure what prompted me to test in the first place because I never imagined getting a bfp. We had just started ttc that month and figured it would be a while. DH brought the tests home and said I should wait until the morning but I couldn't resist. I called him into the bathroom to see if he saw the faint line I did. He didn't believe it at all. I woke up around 3am the next morning and took the 2nd test, at this point it was much darker. I left it and a note saying congrats daddy on the bathroom counter for him to find when he woke up!

i had this whole plan cause i had a shirt made..and i still have it..but after all we have been through this year with ttc dh will prob be right next to me when i test so he can either hold me when i cry tears of joy or tears of sadness
