how does this sound- "hawaiian" themed party for 25
Pasta salad
Fruit salad
Big Island Greens with Papaya dressing
Pernil (the easiest way to make roast pork is to have family do it  )
Arroz con gandules
Mini Hambugers with assorted toppings (onion relish, cheese (cheddar, swiss), mango/papaya salsa, bacon crumbles)
Mini salmon burgers with soy glaze
Teriyaki chicken skewers with tomato, red onion, and pineapple
Assorted chips and dips (guacamole, salsa) macadamia nuts
Birthday cake
specialty drink: Mai Tai
full bar/wine/beer

that sounds fantastic. Would you be willing to share the pernil recipe? Maybe you can throw something coconut or macademian (sp?) nut?? I just associate those with my hawaiian honeymoon.

looks good to me-
I was actually just on foodnetwork.com
and came across some awesome fruit platter desserts and things that I thought sounded really hawaiian... they made me want to have a luau this summer!

Sounds YUM!! I have made hawaiian coleslaw and it's great - might want to consider that in place of a pasta salad?

party starts at 7...if you like strippers, penis cake, good food, and copious amounts of alcohollllllllllllllllllllll
you will find me on that other island in these parts 
I am cooking everything except the pernil and the rice.
I will definitely add some more pina (provided I can find a few good fresh ones in these parts)
I'd like that recipe for Hawaiian slaw, if you have it azad.
