how far in advance do you have to use preseed?

hi everyone..... not currently ttc...but may be in the spring..so doing my research now. :) and good luck to you all btw!!!!

my q is about preseed.... i read up and did the search thingy on here about the fillable tubes.... so how far before bd do you insert?

second question...lets say you dont wanna spoil the moment....can you insert....go to dinner take a walk lalalala.... and then bd? or do you have to pretty much insert and use right away?

if anyone could enlighten me that would be great!

oh and one more q...if you bd more than one time a day..... do you use preseed again or just once that day? ty!!!

personally, the preseed that i use is just a lube that you do not insert beforehand. i was worried about that kind making it all less romantic. So the one we have you just treat like any lube and put it on right before BDing.

Preseed should be inserted right before BD I believe. I insert it a couple of minute beforehand. I don't think you can put it it and walk around and do stuff. I think it would slide out.

I would use it everytime you BD although I think BD-ing more than once a day would not allow DH's sperm to build up again. I believe once a day or every other day is recommended.

Re: how far in advance do you have to use preseed?

I just bought the Pre-Seed and was reading the instructions last night actually. You are supposed to insert it no more than 15 minutes before BDing. It says nothing about using it more than once per day, but like a PP said it's not really advised to BD more than once per day because the sperm need to replenish. As for how much to use, that's up to you with the fillable applicators. The applicators have lines on them and I read most women fill them up to the 3 (mg maybe?). You can probably start there and adjust next time if you need more or less.

yup! Definitely! I don't get a lot of CM at all, so we used Preseed as a lube when we BD'd and I got a BFP so I think that was enough proof for me that is DOES work. Chat Icon

I'm still not sure if they sell it in actual stores. I ordered mine through BabyHopes.com for $16.50

Those lubes you mentioned kills sperm...pre and preseed are not harmful to sperm...even saliva can kill sperm.

I used the prefill inserts the first time I bought it and now I'm using the one you fill up yourself. Either one is good. I fill it up to the 3 line. I've read that is what most women do.

I order from Babyhopes.com. They don't charge for shipping and it comes very fast (like 3 days).

The first time I used it I wasn't that consistent with it. I ran out of the prefill inserts. But last month I used it everytime I BD-ed and I got a BFP. It turned out to be a chemical pregnancy, but I think the preseed helped the BFP.

I did the same thing. I bought the ones that you fill up yourself and insert beforehand. I'm sure you could use it like regular lube, though.

Definitely helps with conceiving. Not only is it a lube, but it also acts as CM and carries the sperm. So if you're somebody who does not get a lot of EWCM during Ovulation, Preseed would definitely help with that (as it can be difficult to get pregnant without CM)

I got this stuff called Pre Conceive at CVS in Levittown and it was like $18. I got my bfp that cycle and it was just used right before BDing .

I have read the opposite...that it is just a lubricant and cannot take the place of CM.

Preseed is good for those who don't necessarily use any kind of pregame due to the no spit rule of thumb.

hm. From what I read on it, it DOES act as CM. Either way, it worked for me! I don't get a lot of CM at all and the one month I actually used the preseed, I got pregnant. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.
