How fast do you write thank you notes?

DH and I had our 1 year anniversary two weeks ago and a few family members gave us presents. My aunt just wrote me a text message saying, "You know you never acknowledged my gift." I thought you had more than two weeks to write thank yous! We finished our wedding thank yous in two months but isn't two weeks a bit much, especially since we were away last weekend?

How fast do you usually write thank you notes?

I usually do them right away, mainly because I tend to forget to otherwise.

Ummm I still haven't written some since May. I know it's awful. But, I am the worst with writing them in a timely manner!

i try to get them out right away, but I don't think that is the norm! I guess she wanted a text thank you in addition to her written one?


maybe that's the trend of 21st century thank yous?

I am the worst.

I was going to make them myself. Then I looked at some online. I don't like them.

I am HIRING a friend to do them for me! I need to get it done NOW.

I wouldnt even think about writing a Thank-you note for a 1st anniversary gift....

I try to get them out right away. I will say I don't care if I get a formal handwritten thank you, but if I ship a gift, I like an email acknowledging the person got it, otherwise I'm worried they didn't.

Within 2-3 weeks.

if she gave it to you in person, did you say thank you then? That should certainly suffice as a thank you and doesn't always need a written thank you.

within a month. but thats only for parties wheere everyone brings ds a gift...

for our anniversary we just verbally thank our parents and grandparents.

Usually within the week.

I usually send them out right away, but as I type this I have my wedding thank yous sitting on my dining room table that I finished on monday

Right away....I don't wait longer than a week.

I try to do it right away before I forget, but I would at least think you have a one month window!

This reminds me...we have a thank you to write!

I try to write them out right away. For an anniversary gift, where a handful of people mailed/ gave us one, I called up the people and thanked them. It never occurred to me to mail them a thank you.

My aunt sends flowers to us each Christmas and gets annoyed if we do not give her a thank you call within 24 hours.

I usually try and do them right away. That being said, it's been almost 2 months since my twins christening and we STILL havne't sent out the thank you's. And they are sitting on my counter I'm getting them out this week!

asking for one within two weeks of the actual gift is tacky. If I had waited a month or so (not wedding) then I would get a bit annoyed.

many of my family/friends don't do thank you cards anymore but i know they are not card people at all.
