I try to have them mailed out within a month. I usually start writing them right away, but don't send them out until they're all done.

I mailed out my shower invites almost 2 months after my shower. I am out of my house from 6 am to 7 pm so I take a long time to do things!!!!!

After moving, having a bridal shower, getting married, getting pregnant, turning 30, having a baby shower, and then a baby within 13 months, I've told my family and friends that if they expect a thank you note for a gift, they should just not bother giving me one because I'm not writing anymore thank you notes. Ever.

i try to get them out as soon as possible, however, since you were away last weekend, i would text her back and say, i'm sorry, i haven't gotten around to sending out my thank you cards since we were away last weekend.

I can be pretty slow with them.

Usually within the month but not always.

I do, however, think they're important and always get them out eventually.

Needless to say I think the person who asked you for a thank you after two weeks is way out of line, and would have been regardless of whether you were in town or not.

My intent is to get them out right away. However, for our wedding, we sent them out after about 10 months. Yes I know that it was terrible of me to wait so long but that's just who I am.

I send thank yous out within days.

I TRY to get them out within a week or 2 but that doesn't always happen. Actually having issues with it now. I'm so mad at myself. A few people sent us gifts after DD was born and I still haven't sent out cards. It's been like 2 months. I feel terrible, but it's on my "To Do" list for tomorrow!

Did you have a party, or did she mail it to you?

Because if you just went out to dinner or something to celebrate, and she gave you the gift there, I think when you SAID thank you, that should suffice.

As for parties or mailed gifts, I am historically awful with sending them out and usually take 4 to 8 weeks to send them. I am trying to be better though.

If I gave someone an anniversary gift I wouldn't expect a formal thank you note the way I'd expect one from a wedding within a few months. I'd actually expect a phone call or even email pretty much right away. I mean you only get a few anniversary gifts- not like the 150 wedding gifts we dealt with- which means individual phone calls are pretty much impossible.

Really fast. Within days. 2 weeks max.

I am the worst!! I will usually call if it is a close friend or family member unless it is a formal occasion and I have to send a written thank you.

I'm pretty bad with them. I usually get them out within the month. Sometimes I'm ambitious and do them within the first week or two, but not often!

I'm lazy.
I procrastinate.
I give myself 2 weeks- a month.
I try to stay closer to the 2 week end if at all possible though.

Depends on how busy (and not lazy) I am.
I think you'd have a 3 week timespan to get them out??? Also if it wasn't that many people I'd rather just call them to thank them for their gifts.

i try to do them as soon as I can or else I will forget. But dont you think it's a bit rude that she said that? I dont think I would ever say that to someone.
