How high do you install a flat screen on a wall.
We are putting our flat screen on the wall in our living room and we have 8ft ceeilings but we have a box around the perimeter with recessed lighting so in actuality our ceilings are really 7'.
My dh asked where I wanted it to go, and I don't have any idea.

I believe most people mount it at eye level but that varies with the type of furniture you have and the room.
We have ours higher up because of how our LR is situated. It's tilted downward so it's not a strain to view it.

It 100% depends on the size of the room & furniture layout in the room.

ours is eye level, but it depends on the room and whats in the room.

DH and I researched this online before we mounted ours. It is supposed to be at eye level when you are sitting down on your couch. Ours is slightly above eye level because I thought it looked better on the wall that way.

I have heard to just spend the $ and have it professionally done. If by chance something goes wrong and the TV breaks, it's on your neck
I would hate to see that happen

I agree
We had our contractor do it for us
We bought the bracket (which turns in all directions) and the special wires and he mounted it and ran the lines thru the wall.
Not sure of the "correct" height but they did it perfectly.
The TV is pretty heavy too
I can't imagine my DH and I attempting to mount it.
