how long can powder formula last in a bottle?

If I make it before DS is ready to eat and leave it out at room temperature how long can I do this?

During the day, I usually start making it a few mins before he's ready to wake up to have it ready.

I just want to know if I can make it like 2 hours before and leave it out for him so I dont have to heat it up in the middle of the night. Or if I do do this, would it have to be refrigerated for that long? This is only a question, please dont be mad at me, I have not done this.

2 hours total.

when they start drinking there is only 1 hour left within that time.

I would say @ 2 hours. There is usually a limit in the directions on the back of the can

ETA - I used to judge it by how long I would dring a glass of milk that has been sitting out

What I used to do when DD was waking for a bottle was fill the bottle with room temp water (like from a brita pitcher), and then measure out the formula in a separate container this way I just had to quickly mix it when she woke to eat. No warming up needed

I'm not sure how long...I've only gone like 20 minutes...HOWEVER...when he was waking in the middle of the night for a bottle, right before I went to bed I'd put steaming hot water in his bottle alone and scooped out the powder into a salad dressing tupperware thing with a lid and when he'd wake up at 5am, I'd roll over, pour the powder in the now room temp. bottle, shake and feed!

This is what I was doing, but I made my life harder. bc I use the drop ins, I made it all ready in a normal "big boy" bottle bc the ounces are easier to read and then mix it with the electric mixer so there are less bubbles and slowly pour into the drop ins. And yay for me I have 2 bottles to wash!

i only serve DS at room temp. so i keep all the bottles filled with the powder so all i have to do is add the water when he is ready for it. if he doent finish the bottle i keep it out for an hour (until it smells a little funny) incase he wants more.

hey, i am no help with this one...I still use the ready to feed liquid! I need to switch now!
