Luciano never responded well to being burped. More like a little rub on the back... but we've stopped many months ago.

Funny, I don't burp him after a bottle but I do after nursing him 
It's not really a pat type of burping though, it is gentle rubbing

BTW Did your English teacher hubby see that you wrote "baby's"   
 
ETA: and tell him I like to write "nite" instead of "night" 
lets just bother him!

Probably when she was 4 or 5 months old. At that age, his body knows when to burp to get the gas out.
