That's about the same amount DD gets each year.

We’ve gotten DD a ton every year so far and I still have unopened boxes from last year in the garage. It’s ridiculous. If I was positive she didn’t remember what she got last year Santa might re-gift. She’s getting a dollhouse, dress up trunk and a few small things this year. She’s also a December birthday so I already have hives from the toy clutter.

How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
We have 14 gifts each. My issue this year is that my 13 is getting alot of clothes and stuff like that which are small boxes and her younger sister is getting a ton of toys which are BIG. The amount of money is the same so I am daily laying the foundation that smaller boxes are better lol.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
Are these stocking stuffers? We probably have that many. Each kid is getting 2 larger wishlist items, a book or 2 and then a ton of little things in their stocking. If you include the stocking (generally $10 and below items), I’m sure it’s more than 14.
On bdays and Christmas I usually try to take a few unopened things away and bring them out in a few weeks/ months as something new to play with. The kids open them and then I kind of sneak them into a closet.
I buy them a lot of clothes to take advantage of Black Friday deals but don’t wrap those up. They just get clothes this time of year.

How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
My son is getting 10-12 things under the tree. Anything "big" is from us. Smaller things are from Santa. I shopped a lot of deals and kept to my budget of $150. I might pick him up a few sketch pads from the dollar store as he loves drawing.
I know as he gets older, the gifts will become less numerous and more expensive.

Santa gave all the gifts! This year is the first he doesn’t believe in Santa, but I’m still saying Santa brought them

I don't count the number - I go by cost. Santa only gets 1 gift that it's more than $100 and I don't typically spend more than $100 on the rest of the gifts. So if he wants Legos, there are fewer presents under the tree b/c those things are EXPENSIVE! But if he just wants a bunch of beyblades, then he'll have more to open.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
IMO, Christmas is the one time of year where I get to spoil my kids so I admit, I totally go overboard. I won't lie, they have a few joint gifts (those are the bigger gifts) but they usually end up with around 30 gifts each plus their stocking.
Part of it is my own fault, I LOOOOVE Xmas morning so much that I never want it to end so I end up overbuying just to extend the experience. lol That being said, it's not like they are getting 30 very expensive gifts. They may get a video game or two but usually they are getting things like board games, art supplies, clothes, outdoor games and toys, things for their rooms, etc.
For me, all bets are off on Xmas. Some might not agree and that's fine, to each his own. But I take my role as "Santa" very seriously.

I'm pretty much the same. And I only have one child so I feel like I can give her more than if I had multiple children just from a financial standpoint alone. DH and I love to see her light up on Christmas morning and we know that this a very short time period we have that she'll be this excited over Santa and Christmas gifts, so we just want to savor it while we can. It's fleeting. She's a good kid, who does well in school, is respectful, a good friend and very very kind hearted overall. The kind of kid who will befriend the kid sitting alone at lunch or defend a kid from a bully on the bus. So her getting a lot of presents on Christmas has definitely not "spoiled" her if that's what OP is worried about.

I don't count either, but this year they're more aware of "even" and "equal" so I actually made sure they didn't get a vastly different number

I'm on team overboard.
My parents always went overboard for me (still do, which we beg them not to!) but I love to be able to do that for my kids. They each get one big gift- this year it's an art easel. Then DD got a bunch of smaller gifts- art supplies, puzzles, some disney barbies, books, a duplo block set... I didn't count but I think it's somewhere around 30.
DS is only 8 months old but it was important to me to try to keep it even in cost/volume. His "big" gift is an activity table and then some little gifts.
Stockings usually have candy. I got DD a necklace and some nail polish for her stocking- DS got yogurt melts and a teether toothbrush and socks.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
I'd also probably qualify for overboard...
Each kid will open 20 items and then we do a big joint WOW gift, this year that is a pacman arcade game. My kids are older and some items are fairly expensive. At same time some are $5 games etc.
The stockings are separate and have several little items

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
For me it depends on cost. Both kids are getting 1 big gift each and maybe 3 smaller things. I have to remind myself not to get too much from "Santa" because each year, our family gets them so many toys.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
My husband and I have totally different mindsets when it comes to Christmas. If it were up to him, my kids would get maybe 3 gifts each. If it was up to me, they would have closer to 20. I want the wow factor, but my husband doesn't want them to get jaded and spoiled. We compromise and they each get around 10.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
I am doing around 10 gifts each. 30 presents is crazy to me because I don't have a basement and I wouldn't even have room for all of that. My kids are small though so the toys are things like play sets and and such that take up a lot of floor space. I guess when they are older and items are smaller, storage won't be an issue. They also get toys from 2 sets of grandparents and 4 sets of aunts and uncles. There are only so many toys we can handle.

Same kid here. I also don't worry about what anyone else does. If you think its too much then don't buy so many gifts.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
Disclaimer: We have a huge family so they get a ton of gifts as it is.
We give them around 7-9 presents usually. This year will be less because they have some big ticket items. I may buy some cheap things to wrap just to fill in. But I have to say, after they open a few, they don't seem that interested in more. They just want to play with their toys.
I remember years ago, my SD was like 8, and we bought her an art easel with all the supplies along with some other things. My DH insisted we wrap everything. There was 37 presents. She got to present 16ish and asked if she could take a break until tomorrow.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
Last time I checked, it was close to 20. Not sure if I am done because there are two things on her list that I didn't get (just too expensive for what they are). BUT, there are really no big ticket items and we don't hang stockings (not sure why. just never did).

All the gifts under the tree are also only from Santa. I would say about 8-10 each depending what it is.

That was my DD last year- she was 2 1/2 and my mom went overboard. She was her only grandchild at the time- the only child in her generation on my side of the family, so she was DONE unwrapping. We left a ton of it to the side, some presents she got throughout the year, some are even under the tree this year!
We got her the art easel this year and all the supplies are going to be ON the art easel. I did count them in with the other gifts, but I'm not wrapping all that crap.

Re: How many gifts do your kids open from Santa?
My kids probably get that many gifts each from us and Santa and there are several big gifts. We definitely go overboard here. They are ony little for so long and for us, we enjoy the decorating and traditions and the crazy amt of gifts under the tree. They don't really get gifts from others as they mostly have extended family and we live OOS.
