How many ounces of milk for a newborn
My son is only 9 days old and is already eating 4 oz every 3-4 hours. I am mostly pumping so it's breast milk during the day and formula (similac) for night feedings. Is 4-4.5 oz every 4 hours too much? He isn't spitting up and is always going to suck after he's finished??

Most babies at that age take 2 to 3 oz....but if he is happy then leave it alone!

For about 2-3 weeks, Ethan was taking 2-3 oz a feeding. Now at almost 5 weeks, hes taking anywhere between 4 and 6 a feeding

How long between feedings? My DS is lasting at least 3 hours between and usually around 3.5-4 hours between each feeding. Formula feedings at night are longer.
He is visibly hungry when I feed him-he's sucking, turning his head, and doesn't want pacifier.

I FF and DS was eating 4ozs every 2.5-3 hours from the day we took him home for the hospital. Our ped said it was fine. Some babies eat/need more than others.

my DD was drinking 4 oz starting at 2 weeks old.
Now she's a month old and drinking anywhere between 4-5.5oz every 3 hrs. VERY rarely will she give herself 4 hrs between bottles.

DS was 3 weeks yesterday and he was taking 3oz ever 3 hours up until 3 days ago when he started 4oz every 4hrs but of course he slips off that schedule sometimes and just wants an ounce or two or something. Then after he sleeps and gets hungry again we just try and start the count over.
