Honestly- I only looked at one.
I knew the minute I was there that this was the place for us.
And I have not regretted it for one second.
THe location couldn't be more convienient, the atmosphere was great, the caregivers outstanding.
I felt I didn't need to see anything more.

We only looked at 1. It came highly recommended from alot of people that have had their children in the entire program and who currently have their kids in the program. After meeting with the director we felt very comfortable and signed our DD up immediatley.

ugh.

the school is closed this week of course so I can't even call to secure a spot.

I guess I'll just go to this other place next week and see.

I have a follow up question though. I'll post separately.

Re: how many pre schools/day cares did you visit before you decided?

I'm a nut. I looked at every single place that was geographically convenient that had an opening. I have done this 3 times. The first time was when DD was still under one year of age. In that case, I went with a LIF mommy to watch DD. The second time, DD was approaching age 2, so her needs were different, as was the criteria I used to evaluate. I wound up choosing the last place I saw b/c everything that came before it paled in comparison. I just visited 7 places on Valentine's Day as I had to make an emergency move. Of those, I had seen 3 before, 3 were geographically not so convenient and had never been seen before, and the last one wasn't in operation when I placed DD originally.

Because we were forced to switch centers we went with the location that offered DD the most comfort - the place were she would have someone she already knew in her class. That was the overriding reason we selected the center where she is at right now - it was not however our number one choice.

one.

my nephew went there so I knew it was a good school. it's close to our house and was clean and safe.

eat: i lied, two. we looked at 2 different tutor times. one was mad crazy expensive and the other was nice but wasn't what we wanted in the long run.

Three - and I knew INSTANTLY when I walked into the school we ended up choosing. The vibe was just "us" - almost like the way I felt when I met DH Chat Icon Chat Icon

I visited 4 but if you find one you love, I'd go with it.
