I picked other too. My DD is only 2 1/2, but we've given her a bath everyday, since she was born. I can't imagine that changing.

We basically do this. It really depends on what they did for the day. My kids always get a bath after daycare. If we were at the park and they got dirty or if it's a sweaty hot summer they, then they get a bath daily. If they really didn't do anything to get dirty, we do every other day.

I did daily when DD was a baby and it really dried out her skin. Unless they did something actually dirty, I don't personally think little kids need daily showers/baths.

Ditto. Ped told us not to bathe her every day, especially as a baby, it's very drying to their skin and it's not really necessary at that age.
Now we do every other day, but never a shower, she wouldn't deal well with that. A bath.

This! I have 3.5 year old b/g twins and a 2 year old and they get bath every other night unless they've had a lot of activity. In the summer we do every b=night more often then not just because they have sunscreen and sometimes bug spray on and they've been running around in the yard/park.

I've never bathed DS every night because he had very dry skin as a baby (still does) and it dries them out worse. I do every other night usually, but in the winter when I know he's not sweating from the heat, I stretch it to every 2 nights.

My kids get a bath/shower every other day UNLESS it's summer and they are all sweaty and covered in sunblock, then it's every day.

I bathed them every day until they were around 3. Then we went to every other. Now that they are in school, I do it every weekday. I figure they need to get "de-germed!" My son has excema and his is actually better when we bathe and lube up with vitamin e oil every day.

Even if it's just water (to avoid overdrying his skin), every night.

This... if my DS is dirty/sweaty from some activity outside then it would be every day but usually every other day.
ETA my son is 2 though and not yet in school so this may change in the future!

Re: how many showers a week for 5 year old

i see i am in the minority i have 4 yr old twins and have never bathed them every night, honestly don't have the time for that, and baths rile them up,
they get bathed/showered about 3 times a week i just dont see the need for every day if they didnt do anything to warrant them being so dirty, they wash their face with a washcloth every night when they brush their teeth.

how many showers a week for 5 year old

Every other night since pretty much birth?

There are exceptions of course.. she can get super sticky or sweaty and yucky girly is getting a bath! and my aunt used to give them to her every single time she pooped!!! That stopped when she FINALLY saw what it was doing to her skin.

I just can't give her a bath daily. And altho we are officially in fall now (whooohooo) Winter is rough. I have to be super careful and lotion the heck out of her and will go two days without a bath if we can.

Summer time.. she needs it daily but we try to stretch it to every other for her skin. Been known to give her a quick rinse!

ETA: This year ... 2014 .. its been strange.. a cold winter, long spring, short summer and we are now back at fall.

I picked other. My kids get baths or showers every night. Occasionally they will miss a night if we were out, but normally every night. In the summer it might be five nights a week though.
