How much did you pay for your twin bed?

We went to Sleepys today and they gave me a price of $430 for a clearance floor model...mattress, boxspring, frame and mattress cover.

Two questions...

-would you take a floor model? I'm having second thoughts on doing that.

-how much did you pay and where did you get it from?

I would take a floor model, but I think I am a nut...

Our bed was free, DH found someone giving it away and the mattress was $250 marked down from $500 (also Sleepys, but we didn't need a box spring)

The Sleepys we went to had a row of mattresses in the back that were on clearance and that is where we found DS'

We got DS a sealy posterpedic. It was a hid/high grade one with pillowtop. For the mattress, box spring, metal frame and a water proof mattress pad we spent $489. This included set up, delivery and taxes. I would not do a floor model. I don't like other people sleeping on my bed so why would I want that for my child.

ETA: We got DSs mattress from Raymore and Flanigan. I was very pleased with their service and the mattress.

We got our mattress from Sleepys. They did a bait and switch on us. I was so upset. I paid for a different mattress, and they delivered a different (lower grade and less expensive version). I called them while their delivery person was in my house. Told them to take it back. It was a nightmare. They refused. We had no other bed. I felt like I was over a barrel. I vowed never to shop there again because of the poor customer service. They would not take the mattress back. It was still in the original plastic when I called them. They said that in order for them to take it back, I would need to have someone come to my house. I could not just refuse delivery - even though it was their mistake for delivering the incorrect mattress. I wanted them to take it back and to just give me what I paid for. They NEVER sent someone. I kept calling. Finally they said it was beyond the return period even though I had been calling. I am sure others are fine with their service, but for me it was a nightmare.

WOW...I would have been beyond ******!!!!!!!

TBH, I don't think $430 is so bad b/c this SHOULD last him 10+ years, you know?

But I do think their delivery fees were DH picked up our mattress for us

$99 bed ( white wood platform bed with two large drawers on bottomw ) and $99 for a Simmons Mattress

Both at Big Lots.

Wa sso happy to save some money finally!

I paid $165 for the frame from JCP. It's a tent bed, no box spring needed. I already had the mattress.

Bobs and Ikea have pretty good deals too.

We bought a matress from One Stop Sleep Shop in Coram. We were having house guests and needed a cheap bed quick. We picked it up but I think we paid $199.

Also have you tried BJ's? I heard they were good too.

Costco sells mattresses- we had a great experience ordering online, they do sell them in the store too

Got the mattress and boxspring at BJs - dont rememeber how much but it was cheap. like $99 each or something. I got her actual bed (a white 4 post bed) on JCP.com for $199

So it seems like most people paid less. Hmmm...maybe i'll see if I can get a better price.
