How much does your infant eat?

The past 2 nights DD has been getting an extra bottle because she's hungry (maybe a growth spurt)

Before she had 4 8oz bottles a day

Now 5 8oz bottles a day

Does anyone get bigger bottles (we use Dr Brown's) or use more than one bottle to feed DC?




She'll be 10 weeks this Saturday

how old is your dd? i know shes cloes to abby but i cant remember

i would start adding a little cereal to her bottles. abby is doing fantastic with it. and it cut her down on the formula she was taking in. but obviously check with your ped.

she was taking 6oz bottles every 2-3 hours round the clock. and usually we couldnt even get to the 2.5hour mark with out her screaming. at night she would go maybe 4 or 5 hours.

Now shes on a different formula with cereal in each bottle. and this is her schedule

830am- 7oz bottle with 5tsp cereal
12pm- 5oz bottle with 2 1/2 tsp cereal
3pm- 5 oz bottle with 2 1/2 tsp cereal
6pm- 5 oz bottle with 2 1/2 tsp cereal
830-9pm- 7oz bottle with 5 tsp cereal

then she will sleep till 830am. (she sleeps great)

On occassion she will get up around 4am for a bottle but will take 4oz with 2tsp cereal and then go back down till 830. so some days she gets a little more then others.

Wow, now I feel like my DD is a little piggy


My PED wants to hold off on the cereal w/her (according to our 2month visit)

I guess maybe DD will just eat this, I mean I guess I wanted to know if this is normal maybe?

i would say its absolutely normal.. when we went for abbys 2 month apt. the one ped said she should be taking 8oz bottles with in a few weeks at each feeding. (wich would prob be now)

but since changing her formula and being told to add the cereal they dont want her to take in more then 30oz of formula. because theres cereal in it. this was told to us after her 2 month apt. and we spoke to a different ped. so i space out what shes allowed to have and it seems to be working great shes never screaming for food anymore

My DS is a terrible eater (and sleeper). He's 8 weeks old and he eats every 4 hours. He gets a 4oz bottle with 3 1/2 tsp of rice cereal in each bottle.

But he almost never eats a whole 4oz. Usually he only takes between 3 and 3 1/2oz per feeding.

my DS is 5 weeks and takes 4 1/2 - 5 oz. every 4 hours.
