We live in RI, and we pay 1000 a month for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in an apartment complex with a pool. (this includes the 20 a month car fee) We get heat & hot water & cooking gas with this

Our current house the mortgage with taxes is $1,375 and we have a legal 2 family with an apartment that pays $1,300 a month. Our out of pocket $75/month.
We just bought another house and will be closing next week. With taxes and homeowners the payment will be $3,260 What a huge change

Next month, when we move, our rent will be $1254 for a 2 bd, 1.5 bath terraced apt with two pools and a 3000 sq ft gym - gotta love Florida!

we pay 3319 w/o insurance and it was an old colonial that needed complete fix up. we still have a lot to do such as the dining room, kitchen and basement but they are all on hold for a while.
prices are CRAZY!

My wonderful town put in 2 new schools, redid all the streets, dug new drainage, widening a few streets and installed some new lights....so our taxes went way up which caused our mortgage to go from $1200 to $1700 a month
The county is working on some tax breaks and some different things to help homeowners and the taxes may go down next year

Lake Ronkonkoma...it's a smaller house...but with that comes a smaller mortgage

We have an interest only mortgage bc we know we wont be in our home for more than 3 years (Its a 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom townhouse in Bay Shore)
Our mortgage is under 1000 a month and we have a small HEL that is 140 a month

It's insane!! Our mortgage is $3500 a month including ins/taxes, but then our home equity loan on top of that is another $800 a month
