how much to pay mother's helper?

I have almost 2 year old twins. The 12 year old neighbor is going to help 2-3 hours a week. I will always be home. What is a fair hourly rate?

I pay my sitters around $12-$15/hr for three kids when I'm out, so I think that's nuts for a 12 yr old when you're home. Minimum wage is $8.75/hr, I believe. I'm thinking $20-$25 for the week is the most I'd give for the week, for max of two to three hours.

I would say 8-10/hr. She's 12 and you'll be home.

I pay my 17 year old niece $10/hour and she is thrilled with this I think 8/hour or even a flat rate of $20/25 per day is FINE for a 12 yo.

I have an adult nanny some days who is home with me and I pay her $18/hour but she is an adult and does cooking, laundry and light cleaning as well.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Seems $8-10 is fare. I appreciate all your input.
