How often does your toddler's diaper get changed at daycare?

Thomas gets dropped off at 7:15 a.m. and picked up between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. His diaper only generally gets changed 3 times. They change it when he gets up from his nap at around 3:00 p.m., but not again before pick up. He is soaked when I pick him up.

What is the norm?

How often would you be changing him at home?

I babysit. The little girl gets here around 9. I generally change her right before lunch, unless she had pooped and had already been changed....so let's say noon....then I change her after her nap we'll say 3:30/4. If she hasnt been picked up by 6 I'll usually check her diaper then...then only change if she needs it.

So some days it's really only 2 diaper changes....

It's what I do with my own son....

I'm pretty sure the "rule" is every 2 hours at the very least, or as needed (for a BM). I would speak to the director.

DS is at daycare one day a week from 8:30-3 and gets changed b/t 3-4 times a day-he pees a lot and they know this so i asked if they could always change him every 2 hours or so (or any time they think he pees or pooped of course)

DS gets there at 7:30 and picked up by 5:30...they change him 4 times/day. Usually 10pm, noon, 3pm, 5pm roughly. In his last class they only used to do it 3 times per day because for whatever reason they didn't do diapers after 5pm unless a BM. It's much better in his new room because they change him at 5pm so I don't need to do it when I get home.

3-4 times during the day, another first thing in the morning and another before bed so 6 times total in general. DD does get a diaper change around 5, right before we pick her up.

DD doesn't go to daycare, but I'd speak to them if you feel like it's not often enough.

DD is a BIG water drinker and therefore pees like crazy. We literally change her diaper every 2-2.5 hours all day, every day...I just know she's got a super wet diaper by that timeframe.

DS is usually dropped off between 7:30 and 8:00... and picked up anywhere between 5:30 and 6:00.

He is usually changed between 4-5 times.

Abby gets changed about 4 times (on a schedule) and any other time they smell something funky. She gets there around 7 and leaves around 4-4:30.

I used to work in day care and we'd change diapers every 2 hours.
If the child was "Dry" we would write "Dry" on their "Daily Chart".
Definitley speak up and say something.

Of course, if there was a BM the child was changed immediatley.

I babysit now and change the little girl and my DS every 2 hours as well.
Its just a schedule I have gotten used to.

My SIL's daycare used to be every 3 hours approx.

To me it doesnt seem that bad as that is my norm at home unless DS poops in between.

My DD is changed every hour, if she poops she is changed immediately. We get a sheet at the end of the day that is a spreadsheet of the day - they write every diaper change and what it was (wet, dry, poop) and also write all naps and feedings. I'd be upset if she came home wet.

They change DD's diaper every 2 hours-unless she has a dirty diaper.

Usually she will get changed 5-6 times a day (drop off at 7:15, pick-up from 4:15-5:45). DD is almost 1yo.

Every two hours, or more often if needed. They also started putting a dry diaper on him right before his nap, because he started peeing through his clothes at nap time.

I would guess on most days from 8-5 he has about 5 diaper changes.

DD gets changed every 2 hours at daycare unless a change is needed sooner. If she is completely dry they just wait and check again every so often (not sure if it's every 15 or 20 minutes after that)

I have done daycare for quite a few years....If I had to come up with an "average" , it woud be 3-4 times per day ( obviously, each childs bathroom patterns are different) but I always made sure that each child was changed , dirty diaper or not, before pick-up....It went along with hands/face cleaned etc...You never know if the parent needs to stop at a store etc... and I always make sure my own DC's are checked/changed before we take a car ride , so I did the same for my daycare children ...

I'm debating whether or not to say something. He's changed approximately every 2 - 3 hours, but it's more toward the 3 hour range and I feel he could be changed between 3 p.m. (or when he wakes up from nap) and when he is picked up.

I know in the Infant Room the rule was every 2 hours, and it was pretty much followed. I don't know if it changed in the Toddler Room, but I don't feel he's changed as often.

Daycare told me that they check/change every hour. Today she was there for 6hrs and she was changed 3x.

Lucas gets changed every 2-3 hours as well as if they can smell him

An average day he gets about 4 or 5 changes.

Every two hours they check his diaper. They only leave it on if he is completely dry AND did not have any ointments applied at the previous diaper change.
