Toddler moms - daycare and potty training
Ok, so Alex is obviously comfortable enough using her potty chair to do her business, but how do I make the transition for her at school? Is this something I can expect her teachers will work with her on?

Re: Toddler moms - daycare and potty training
Depends on the daycare.
Maddie was potty training VERY early (15 months) but the daycare refused to potty train her. They said they couldn't spare the teacher to take her to the potty when she asked I was scratching my head over this because they have to individually take children to change a diaper. The teacher also told me it was impossible that she knew when she had to go because they don't associate the feeling with going potty. Complete bs as Maddie would say "Pee-pee! Pee-pee!" and run to the potty at home and then go. So she was potty trained at home but not at school. This went on for a few months until we switched daycares.
By the time we switched, she was about 18 months old. The new daycare teacher had more than half of the class trained at school. They pair them up with an already potty trained kid & bring them both to the bathroom together. The non-pt'er always hears the teacher clapping for the pt'd kid. They get back to the classroom & both teachers clap. It's a HUGE incentive.

Our daycare provider works on it with us... I get notes home when she does pee pee or poo pee on the potty. - Sorry it just makes me giggle.
