How old was DD when you pierced her ears?
DD was around 8 months and we never had a problem.

5 months. DD is almost 4 now and has never had an issue.

2 months. My ped did it after her 2 month shot. She is now 10 months and does not touch or pull them.

She's 5 in August and we still haven't.
I dont see us doing it until she asks for it and can care for them herself.

I have reactions to ALL earrings- no matter the metal, I'm worried that they will too.

My Ped uses surgical plastic posts for this reason. They actually look like diamond studs you can't tell the difference.

Yes they do. This is the website my ped told me to buy them from if I wanted to continue her wearing them. www.blomdahlusa.com

I'm not piercing DD's ears until she's old enough to ask for them. I think in my case 4 or 5 yrs would probably be the youngest.
I don't have a girl but I'm with this school of thinking. I think that a lot of people do it sooner b/c it makes it more obvious they have a girl & some girls pull out hair bows. I still would prefer to wait. My mom waited for me to ask and I was in 2nd grade. I surprised my mom by doing a lot of the healing care by myself. She just had to take me to the place and she helped me with my first earring change.,
I'm with you. My mom didn't do mine until I was old enough to learn to care for them myself. I want to say I was 5 or 6. I may not wait that long but I want her to ask for them, that way she can remember getting her ears pierced and get excited about it.
