How old was your DS when s/he sat up alone without assistance?
DS has been sitting up for a while but he can't sit up by himself. He needs to lean against something.
When was your DC able to sit up by himself/herself?

My girls were tripod sitting at 2 months old, then one day out of the blue they no longer needed help and no longer tipped over.
 #1: 5 days before she turned 5 months old(it was Christmas Day so thats how I remember the exact day )
#2: 4 1/2 months old

DS was tripoding when he turned 5 months and could sit unassisted by 6 months.

5-6 months could sit by himself-started even a little before 5 months but by 6 months was really good

What's tripod sitting??
Sean has been able to sit, bent over since about 3 months ........(Is that tripod?)
He's ALMOST able to sit on his own w/ needing help - He's 41/2 months ....

6 months..she still hasn't gotten up to a sitting position on her own yet though..she's 8 mos...she's just now trying to get back into sitting position from crawling

tripod sitting is using hands as support.

4 1/2 months with an occasional "flop over".....my DS has hit milestones extremely early! And trust me, I am more worried, than excited.

DD got into the sitting position all by herself exactly one week before she turned 7 mos. She had been sitting on her own for a couple of weeks before that, but only if we sat her down.

DS was able to sit up probably since 5 months, but he couldn't get there by himself until about 11 months.
