How old was your older child when you started using the sit and stand?
I'm trying to figure out what type of double stroller we need. DS will be exactly 2yo when DC#2 is born. I know he isn't disciplined enough to stand and not run off right now. Not sure if he will be ready at age 2.

We have the sit and stand deluxe which has a seat in the back that can eventually be taken off. My DS (age 3) still sits in that seat.

Re: How old was your older child when you started using the sit and stand?
I have the big sit and stand...still haven't taken out backseat though and he is 3.5.
I just can't bring myself to do it...i feel like if he is facing me it will just encourage him to talk to me even more then he already does. He just doesn't stop. 3 miles a day of gabbing the entire time. Now he has me reading books to him while we walk...he holds the book up over his head so I can see the words.
At 7 am...it is the very last thing i want to do.

2. they are exactly 2 years apart. I also used it for a good 2 years. I had the old, original kind - and he always stood or used the jump seat with the straps and never had an issue.

2.5
I think it all depends on your child's personality. I think my older DS wouldn't have stood still on it at age two, but some might.

I have this one too... from Target - it's the one in the Green Tea color.
My DS was 18 mos when DS #2 arrived, and this seemed to be the best option for us.
I also bought a used Maclaren Twin Techno on Craigslist.

Re: How old was your older child when you started using the sit and stand?
ds was 2 when dd was born. we used the delux sit n stand, so the back seat was a real seat. i got rid of the back seat around 2.5, but ds could still sit or stand, which he still does both
