how soon before due date going out of work?

I honestly plan to work up until my due date or at least work until I need to stop.
IMO, I would rather spend the time after the baby is born and I think I would go nuts sitting home and not keeping myself busy.

I was due May 29th, gave birth on May 26th and my last day was April 30th. I am a teacher and it was becoming way too difficult for me to stand or even sit on the desk because of the swelling I was experiencing. Let me tell you, it was GREAT to get a few weeks to myself and rest up...I haven't had more than 2 hours of sleep in a row since May 26th LOL

same here- as long as the baby and I are healthy and we dont need bed rest- god forbid  - I plan on working till they wheel me into delivery lol

Same here. I work in NYC, so I will stop commuting when my body tells me to and just work from home up until my due date. I want to spend the most possible time at home with my  .

As someone who has been off for a month (I'm a teacher) I would work until you can't. It gets very boring just waiting. If you need to get some stuff done, then give yourself maybe a few days. I wish I was still working because I feel as though that may help me go into labor. It's hard to keep busy.

I'm hoping to work until I deliver. Maybe it won't be possible but I want to be optimistic. I want to use all my days for when the baby is here!

I'm at work right now and I'm scheduled for my c-section on 8/12.

I'm going out two weeks before my EDD. I'm a high school guidance counselor in NYC, and I'm a little terrified of going into labor in my office in front of students, and not being able to get home. Since I'm due in early December, I also don't want to risk driving to work in nasty weather. But that's me. I can also take up to 4 years off and still come back to my job.
HOWEVER... if I was limited to 6 or 12 weeks total of maternity leave, I'd work up until my due date.

me too! i acually have to sit down with my HR dept b/c i'm not sure if they require me to give them a date i'll be starting maternity leave or what 
everytime someone asks me when i'm going out on leave i always say "umm when i give birth" and everyone is always like OH really? your not going out earlier??

with #1 I worked until I gave birth.
I had a short day on Thursday went to the Dr. after work was admitted that night and started induction. Then had her Friday via emergency c-section by lunch time at 12:10pm

I plan to work up until my due date as well, I rather have the time after the baby is born, plus we are moving around the same time so I am just storing up my days as much as possible.

I am hoping to ask to work from home beginning a week before my due date and doing it until the minute I pop. I commute an hour each way by train and am terrified of my water breaking on the train

lol, me too!
I worked the day I went into the hospital with DS. I worked until 3:30 pm, had a doctors appointment and contractions at like 6:00 pm and admitted by 7:00 pm. I should add that I was on modified bedrest and working from home for the last two weeks of the pregnancy.

With my first DD I wasn't going to be returning to work and was fortunate to be able to stop working around 25 weeks. This time around I will be working until the last possible minute and probably not really stopping. I work as an independent contractor and my schedule is pretty flexible so I will be able to work from home.

I'm going out 2 weeks before -- but, my company lets you go out 2 weeks before with pay so there is no reason not to.
