How would you tell coworkers in this situation?

I work on a virtual team out of 20 professionals only three sit in the NYO and many of them telecommutte.

I am wondering how I tell people. Part of me feels funny sending an email like "Hey - Im pregnant!"

Any, thoughts? We have a team meeting in mid December and I imagine I will be showing by so thinking it's best I tell them beforehand???

My boss and assistant are the only ones who know so far.

You could just wait and tell them at the team meeting; otherwise if you talk over the phone often you could bring it up over the phone. I think as long as your boss knows you don't really have to tell anyone else right away. I slowly told other co-workers once it became pretty obvious. people that I only deal with over the phone/e-mail didn't find out until well into my pregnancy.

I was in a similar situation where I only told my boss and immediate coworkers. My boss wound up announcing it to the others or they slowly started finding out on their own. I didn't mention it either for the same reason - I found it awkward to just announce it out of nowhere. Maybe mention to your boss it is okay to share?

I think that's your best bet honestly. Plus its more personal that way.

I agree waiting until the meeting sounds like a good idea. As long as your boss knows, I don't think you're obligated to tell anyone else. I didn't tell many people at work besides my boss. I am a private person and I don't like being the center of attention, so I didn't want some big "announcement" but that's just me.
