HSG and pain
I had an HSG done yesterday. It took the doctor like 20 minutes (I think) to get to to my cervix to put the balloon. He said sometimes it's hard to get to the cervix. Anyway, after much proding he got there and all was fine. It didn't really hurt except for a little pinch like feeling for a sec. Anyway, about 2 hours later I started to get pain in my stomach and hours later it was actually painful to walk or move quickly. Even hitting a bunch on the road while driving hurt. I had to take pain meds to sleep and woke up still hurting. My stomach still hurts to the touch although better than yesterday. Is this normal???? Should I call the doc?? I am already taking antibiotics so I don't think it's an infection. Advice??

Re: HSG and pain
I had the exact same thing happen to me. During the test it only hurt a little for about 2 mins. But about 3 hours later I got very bad cramping that latest all night. The next day the cramping turned into horrible soreness. By the third day the pain started subsided.
I went to the dr and he said there was no infection. Hope you feel better!

Re: HSG and pain
I had some discomfort and even pain for the rest of the day after the HSG. If I got up too quickly I'd get pain in my stomach.
feel better

Re: HSG and pain
Hmmm, I just had one this morning and it took two minutes, cramped during the process, and have been fine since. I had no blocking, so maybe that's why it was so quick. I really think it depends on the doctor.
